Pivoting Labs Remotely with Labster and Other Simulation Software LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

With the pivot to remote teaching came the need to design remote lab activities for our students. In this session, we will share how we used Labster science simulation software and other online science simulations to enhance student learning and provide industry relevant learning experiences. Chemistry will be the focus of the examples, but simulations are applicable in many different areas of science. Links to @home chemistry investigations will be highlighted. Participants will get an opportunity to explore a few simulations and discuss opportunities available to “pivot” in-person hands-on science to remote options.

Session Objectives
Through participation in this session, participants will
  • explore Labster, PhET, Collisions, and Royal Society of Chemistry science simulations
  • highlight new opportunities of @home lab learning
  • discuss advantages and struggles of digital/remote lab learning
  • discuss assessment of remote lab learning in comparison to traditional lab reports.
